Hello, don't you just love Sundays? I love Sundays. The only bad thing is the next day is Monday, which means school. Sunday is probably my favourite day of the week, I always have the best sleep in and then an early night for the rest of the week.
My Grandparents live in England and I've always thought how amazing it is that my Sunday is ending and theirs is only just starting. I'm looking back on my day and there looking forward into theirs. I'm thinking of the past and there wondering what their going to be doing in the near future. Time is an extraordinary thing.
Anyway Sunday is the best day to relax so I spent my day knitting, I feel like such a grandma saying that ha ha. So I was talking to my Mum a couple of days ago and I was saying how I would really like to make a warm blanket, thought it would be such a cute DIY and I think seeing as its winter what a great time to start, I'll be cozy in front of the fire with my knitting needles in hand. So after a bit of searching online and asking Mum (my personal expert) I decided just to keep it very basic and follow the tutorial below. The tutorial is so easy and simple to follow and has everything you need to know from casting on to casting off. I went into Spotlight (supplies all things crafty) on Friday and bought some wool, in order to have a warm blanket you need quality wool. I only bought two balls of wool just to try it out to make sure I don't waste my money. The wool was $7 each. After only being able to knit two squares with one ball of wool I realized the wool I had bought was to expensive seeing as I'm going to need 40 squares, if I continued with my chosen wool my blanket would cost me approximately $140. So tomorrow I'm going back to spotlight to choose a less expensive wool but hopefully with the same quality. I'm not sure which colours I'm going to choose, I've started off with just a plain white and grey I'm thinking keep it natural with a bit of lavender purple or light turquoise. Anyway if your interested pick up those knitting needles and go for it!
Bye, Vanessa
