What's in my gym bag?

I attended my local gym 2-3 times a week, often for a 1 1/2 hour session. Honestly some weeks are busy and I'm lucky to make it once but physical activity is relatively important to me so if I don't make it to the gym I will usually make up for it in some other way (swimming, running, outdoor activities). My gym bag is pretty basic, packed with the essentials.

What's in my gym bag?
  • Runners
Runners or sneakers are probably the most important thing in my bag. I believe a decent pair of runners is so important. Our feet carry us around all day everyday, the least we can do is give them the proper support.
  • Top
I have a lot of sports tops. I don't really bother with brands and having the latest style. I go to the gym to workout not for a fashion parade. I would go to the gym in a baggy old t-shirt, people don't care how you dress or what you look like they're just happy your there giving it a go. I think a lot of people need to realise this so they are not so self conscious in the gym.
  • Sports leggings
I can say the same about tops as I can with leggings. I don't see the point paying hundreds of dollars on sports leggings for a brand when you can get cheaper ones just as good.
  • Sport socks
A good pair of socks isn't a must have but I prefer it. The let your feet breath whilst having good cushioning especially around the heel.
  • Sports bra
A comfy sports bra is so important. We need to support our girls ladies, ahaha. Personally I'm not to picky with sports bras but there is one style which drives me up the wall. The bra which you have to pull over your head and then clip it. If you've used one you'll know what I'm talking about but if you haven't just ignore me because it's terribly hard to explain.
  • Drink bottle
Staying hydrated is something I couldn't enthuse more about. Water is good for you in so many more ways then you can imagine. Personally I know I don't drink enough water but when in the gym and working out I always make sure I have a drink bottle with me.
  • Towel
A towel is something my gym insists on, it's purpose is to wipe down the equipment after use. This is handy during cardio but I'm not really a sweaty person so this doesn't seem to be a problem for me.
  • Jumper
I always make sure to have a jumper in my bag for after gym. Not so much in the summer but now we're heading into winter it's a bit more important. I hate the cold weather so when I'm hot after a workout my jumper goes on straight away so I keep warm.

So these are the basic things I keep in my gym bag. There are a few more little items I can think of such as; hair ties- there is nothing worse then turning up to the gym with no hair tie and deodorant - no one likes a stinker, I realise I'm going to publish this and then remember about 5 things I forgot to mention but this is it for now.

Bye bye, Vanessa
